East and Central Africa

What area of Liberia do you current live (Providence, City, general area etc.)

Montserrado-Monrovia

How long have you lived in Liberia?

28months

When you moved to Liberia, did you bring your family? What do they think?

No I didnt.

Did you leave your family behind? How do you handle the separation?

Well,lots of friends who kept me company. Both men and women. The women especially were so charming and daring. So my separation was more mental than physical.

What made you decide to relocate to a different country?

End of contract

Why did you choose Liberia, or what factors helped you to decide to choose Liberia?

The Job was in Liberia

What other countries did you consider? Why didn't you choose those?

Sierra Leone,but Liberia had more trouble, so I went were there is more trouble, because my speciality is in solving problems and calming down trouble makers

Was it difficult to get the documents you needed to live and/or work there? (residency and/or working permit)

No. Very easy especially if you work through the locals. Only problem is, sometimes you have to pay bribes(according to my scouts) to get them.

What was the most difficult part of the transition?

The office environment was too casual. My collegues or workmates would bump into my office to ask for papers etc even though I was in an important meeting.

Secondly,it was difficult to me to understand the Liberian english during the first 3 months.

Thirdly,it was hard for me to get used to the braveness and openness of the women. If she likes you she will get you, even if it means stripping in public

What was the biggest mistake you made in the transition to living in Liberia?

Being so friendly and giving out my mobile phone to all the girls who asked for it.

What was the easiest part of making the transition?

Food was ok, especially at Mamba Point and Crystal view; Royal hotel was also great.

I liked the night life especially the clubs- Couldn't miss Zanzibar blues,Hidden Agenda and La Point

Do you plan on returning to your home country? Why or why not?

Yes- Due to the end of my contract in Liberia

Do you miss your family, friends or old home and habits?

Of course I do, despite the friends and fun

What do you miss the most about your home country?

The modesty of the women, the smooth and soothing voices of the girls, the clean environment, organised town and professional policemen.

Are there the same recreational activities in Liberia?

Yes; Swimming pool,beach, night clubs

How easy has it been to make new friends in Liberia?

Very easy

Do you have many friends from your home country in Liberia?

Yes

What are your favorite activities that are available?

Night clubs, Gym, Beach,

What are the top ten things you miss about the place you left behind?

Ten is too much; just one. A loving family.

What are the top ten things you DON'T miss about the place you left behind?

miss every thing

Do you speak the language of Liberia?

Liberian English. Just a few sentences

Do you think it is crucial to know the language in Liberia, or can you get by with a handheld translation dictionary for a while?

Important to have a few sentences

Was medical insurance difficult to get before you went or after you first arrived?

Already got work

I work hard to earn a living.

In the same Profession and same way-Hard work

How did you go about finding a job in Liberia? Was it easy or hard to locate work and get a job?

Are there local customs that would make it difficult for foreigners to fit in?

Traditionally or Culturally most Liberians are loud.Even when they are conversing they will shout at each other. THis to me puts me off.

What are the top ten things you like about Liberia?

Night Life, free sex, the beer,

What are the top ten things you DON'T like or find strange about Liberia?

Insecurity, rape, unemployment of young people, very old women in Night clubs,

Do you have plans to move again or travel in the future or what are your future business plans?

Will Travel alot in future

Did you buy a new home or did you decide to rent?

Rented

What is the average cost for housing in your area?

1500USD

Was it difficult to find housing in your new country?

No, the locals helped me through

Is the cost of living comparable to what you experienced before? Explain the difference.

The cost of living here is cheaper than in Liberia.

How do you feel about the local people? Are they friendly?

They are friendly

What is the best thing about people in Liberia?

They like ambience and socialising. They like music and they will fit into any society.

Do you have any suggestions for people who are thinking about moving to Liberia?

Take your time to understand the local setting and how people leave. Don't rush into anything otherwise you will be disappointed. And don't go night clubs alone, find a companion-workmate or expatriate

What are the good or bad things about living in Liberia?

Good: Lots of expatriates so socialising is even more interesting Bad: Too many unemployed young people and adults living on less than a dollar a day.

Do you think you will stay in Liberia, or it is not suitable for the long run?

not for the longrun

If you are living there for the short term, what other countries are you considering?

Any around the world.

Do you have any blogs or websites that you find enjoyable about Liberia for people living there?

No

what langauge do the people in Libera speak?
